Customize “Add New Post” Area in WordPress 2.7

Written by Pavan Kumar on December 18, 2008

If you love to edit your post on your browser rather than a vast availability of desktop clients, you probably might have got disappointed after the wordpress upgrade to version 2.7. With new version, the add new post page has a very narrow area to edit the post and does not provide a favorable environment for you to edit.

Today I discovered that the side pane in the right side of the text area are all drag and drop type and we can move them below the text editor area. It even becomes an advantage that placing your category and tags selection section below the wordpress rich text editor will remind you of selecting them provided you have publish button placed below them. Just drag the category, tags and publish panes below the editor and you will have the wide editor which is even helpful while you are posting images.

There is one thing which I did not like about it, you cannot take your plugin pane above. I have to adjust with platinum seo plugin at the bottom.
