There is a good css tester like that located here: http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp. You can learn pretty much everything about styles for your site there.

The html kit and other softwares will work as a good tutors.

I have never used that html kit, but have used many web design desktop softwares. http://pavankumar.50webs.com/ is the last website I built. After that, I jumped into blogging.
