simply use the trial version for 30 days, you can always uninstall it later.

you can even shred using other antivirus softwares like Malwarebytes antimalware or spybot.

Though I find Mcafee can even delete whole folders or drives, which is good in this case.

Remember Mcafee will still not remove the virus from infected pen drives, actually none of the antivirus can remove recycler.

I used winrar and great success … I have kaspersky trial version and just let me know that I have the recycler virus but doesnt allow me to delete it.. how I cvan get a McAfee Enterprise 8i with perpetual duration antivirus???

No it doesn’t work that way, on reboot, especially when the external hard disk and usbs are connected, it will simply create a new recycler folder.

Also there are different variations of the recycler – few can simply be shredded and will be gone, few will just come back.

I am in Delhi right now, doing a workshop on robotics and the computers in the institute are infected with the recycler virus but a different version than the recycler which infected mine.

I can easily shred it using mcafee shredder and it doesn’t come back, unless I connect an infected drive.

it works simply just delete the recycler folder created in your hard drives and immediatelly create a folder and name it RECYCLER. once the antivirus recreates, it ahs no where to partch itself. period!

I am updating here after a long time.

The problem is recycler keeps appearing even if I remove it using linux cd due to infected USB drives or connection with another infected system.

I currently finished writing a virus removal guide and will soon publish it. It is getting edited right now so will be available on amazon probably by December.

I will also write a mini removal guide for recycler.

So all of you can wait for that, if its still infecting your computer.

You may need to try these generic methods first. Also keep in mind that your antivirus solution needs a regular updation of virus definitions. That is most important.
